A few things about this song:

  • It’s one of my favorite songs of all time.
  • It’s about a girl who gets sucked up into the sky the moment after she kisses someone.
  • In an interview, Travis Morrison said he was inspired to write this song after reading that Michael Jordan took a girl he’d been briefly seeing to the beach, and she drowned.
  • This is how the song ends: With no one to call, summer turned to fall, I gave up. It’s been a couple years and I guess I’m fine about it, It’s not like we were married it was three or four months, and nothing’s really different. Though it seems like I’ve spent my life in planes, which is kind of strange, But I don’t know…
